DevOps Engineer

Location: Seattle

The role:

As a DevOps engineer on the team, you will leverage your experience to tackle and solve complex technical and customer problems. A successful DevOps engineer:

  • Is responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems.
  • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing and fixing production software issues. Development of monitoring solutions, performing software maintenance and implementing solutions
  • Develop standards and procedures for measuring product quality and release readiness
  • Make recommendations related to testing techniques and processes
  • Desires to be involved in all aspects of the project life cycle
  • Displays a high degree of ownership and accountability. As a small startup, it’s all hands on deck and every effort counts.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps engineer.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Experience automating the deployment of software using tools such as Puppet, Chef and Ansible
  •  Experience of Jenkins for continuous integration
  • Experienced with revision control systems including branching and tagging strategies using Gitlab or Github
  • Experience provisioning and managing applications in both virtual and cloud infrastructures (AWS and Openstack preferred)
  • Strong skill set in deployment and network operations, or sys-admins who have a background in scripting and coding
  • Container experience in Docker and Kubernetes
  • Effective communication skills, ability to work well in a diverse team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
